Facebook — I “like” you, I don’t “like” you
I think as the year comes to a close, I always find myself checking in on my life. How am I doing? Was this a successful year? Did I grow, did I make any progress towards my life’s goals? And strangely this morning, I found myself thinking about Facebook. Read More »

Tom Petty – Wildflowers – Acceptance – Role Model
I know. Tom Petty as a role model, seems strange but hear me out. I was never a huge Tom Petty fan growing up, I just never quite got it. But in 1994, amidst all the Seattle music, came this masterpiece. He put a record out called Wildflowers and to this day, that album still stands as one of my favorites. When the lyrics are written, where are the vocals performed, what mics are used, is the whole band recording all at once. It’s just such a mystery, such an evolution as we just take a back seat and let the song unfold. It’s exciting, but also a little scary hoping these songs end up sounding as I hope. The speakers never lie. Read More »

Recording new record is moving right along
So here I am, about four songs into my new record and I must say I feel exhilarated hearing these new songs take shape. It’s a bit nerve racking starting from scratch, taking on the prospect of a new record. I’ve written about 15 new songs the last few months, but until I dive in the studio and hear the music back through the speakers, I’m never quite certain if the songs I’ve written are any good. Just my own creative demons I have to deal with. Read More »
